Totally Frakked: Battlestar Galactica - Several Million Fans Cry Out in Ecstasy
The long-awaited season premiere of Battlestar Galactica was a two-hour orgy of action-packed fatalism, smart political allegory, and fat-phobia. The Cylons have been occupying New Caprica for four months, the humans are miserable but still breeding (new mom Cally is more snot-nosed and irritating than ever), resistance fighters Tigh and Starbuck are being tortured in prison, Baltar is still president in name only, and the fleet is still far, far away. Fans and critics alike are drooling over the new season, which promises to take us deep inside Cylon society and explore the psychology of suicide bombers.

Raw: All in the Family
Say what you will about the wrestlers of the WWE; they work hard for the money. King Booker and Finlay wrestled Friday night on Smackdown, last night at the No Mercy pay-per-view event, and are due to appear tonight on Raw. The three hour Raw season premiere, which is being billed as a family reunion, features pretty much every major wrestler from the past 5 years...
The NFL's New Official Color is...Pink!
As I noted in a previous column, the great Hank Williams Jr. has left broadcast football theme song crooning for the browner pastures of ESPN. The new NBC primetime network football showcase features a theme song by Pink. Yes, that Pink. As if that weren't strange enough, she's covering Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself for Loving You," replacing the lust and self-loathing of the original with endorsements of each week's competing franchises. Next season, look for NBC to introduce Scott Stapp's cover of "The End" as its theme song.
But seriously, folks, there are some good matchups this weekend: the aforementioned TO-Bowl, Pitt @ San Diego on SNF, and Baltimore's high-powered D @ Mile High on Monday...
