Fiesta Bowl: Boise State -- Entertainers of the Year
Setting off a million "greatest game ever" debates, the conclusion of this year’s Fiesta Bowl featured two extremely rare plays (one of which is more commonly found in cartoons than actual games), a fourth-and-18 conversion, and a marriage proposal. Many have likened this conclusion to a Hollywood ending, and I have no doubt that the rights have already been optioned. While this underdog story would make for a solidly mediocre Kurt Russell vehicle, there was nothing mediocre about Monday night’s game. That’s what the best live television can do -- make tired plotlines new again.
