Gene Simmons Family Jewels Season Finale Tonight!

Untitled_3Fans of Gene Simmons Family Jewels have been enlightened this season with a look inside the house -- and family -- that Kiss built. We’ve seen the personal shrine that front man Gene Simmons created in his home office; watched him put his name on anything and everything -- including manure -- just to make a buck; and probably gotten a laugh or two at the gratuitous shots of him styling his Brillo hair, dressing in black leather lace-up pants, and reminding himself just how sexy he is. Really.

SmackDown!: Open Source Wrestling

Sgt_slaughter Following Friday Night SmackDown!'s bounty of tag-team matches (the most prominent of which featured a double-crossing Big Show and King Booker losing to Batista and John "Overexposed" Cena), the WWE is poised to turn the controls over to the fans, who will be able to determine who fights whom on next week's Cyber Sunday pay-per-view event. Yes, you can even vote for Bill Cowher-lookalike and beloved '80s icon Sgt. Slaughter...

Totally Frakked: Battlestar Galactica - Political Allegory + Soap Opera = Rawk

666_2Did you really think that getting the colonists off New Caprica would solve the fleet's problems? Things are never simple in the über-dark world of Battlestar Galactica, where humans vie with Cylons to build the most unjust civilizations in the known universe. This week's episode is particularly grim. Reunited aboard the Galactica, psycho-boy Tigh and pals get the secret green light from President Zarek to try and execute suspected terrorists Cylon collaborators. Meanwhile, former swerve-buddies Starbuck and Baltar get dumped by their current lovers. Intertwined themes of political and romantic deterioration make this episode uneven in spots, but open up intriguing possibilities for our main characters.

Amazing Race: God Smiles on Kentucky, Smites No One

Story_02_1 This week, The Amazing Race took the contestants to beautiful and exotic Mauritius. For those of you fortunate enough not to hear me screaming at the contestants on TV last night, Mauritius is pronounced "muh-rish-is," not "mar-it-E-us." Didn't anyone else watch Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? (I *heart* Rockapella!)

After a relatively taxing leg, David and Mary -- King and Queen of Pokeytown, respectively -- are the last team to arrive on the mat. In a twist of fate suggesting that, while God may hate shrimp, He loves rednecks, Team Kentucky once again avoids elimination.

Sports Update: World Series Action, NBA Opens for Business

M102701a After Major League Baseball's sprawling season, the week-long World Series seems rushed. The hard-luck Tigers are down to their last nine outs, facing the Cardinals in St. Louis on Friday night, as the Tigers try desperately to get the series back to Detroit for Games Six and Seven. The tense atmosphere surrounding the last innings of these do-or-die games runs counter to the sport's leisurely vibe. Every pitch is a potential career-maker or -breaker, a fact that would have more impact if Joe Buck wouldn't remind us of it every 10 seconds.
